Ferchem to Participate in Establishing a Fertilizer-Production Complex

Ferchem Misr’s Board of Directors announced on December 6, 2025 their approved participating in the establishment of an Egyptian joint-stock company. The goal of this new company is to build an industrial complex to produce sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and compound fertilizers. Earlier, the company had reported its results for the period from January 1, 2025 to September 30, 2025, which showed a net profit of EGP 2.009 billion — compared to a net profit of EGP 42.597 million over the same period last year. FERC was established in 2001 with a capital of EGP 35.1 million as a leading Egyptian joint-stock company in the manufacture of mixed fertilizers. Over time, it added phosphate fertilizers and water-soluble fertilizers to support and develop Egypt’s fertilizer and agriculture industry. The company’s factories and headquarters are located in the city of Sadat in Monufia Governorate, on a land area of 33,000 m². The board chairman is engineer Abdel Salam Al-Gably. FERC is among the first agricultural/fertilizer companies listed on the Egyptian Exchange (Nile Stock Exchange). Its mixed-fertilizer factory has an annual production capacity of 100,000 tonnes. The company aims to increase its production capacity to meet rising demand for its products locally and for export.

The Egyptian Company for Mineral Resources (ECMR) and Ferchem Masr for Fertilizers and Chemicals (FERC) have inked a framework agreement to establish joint phosphate manufacturing projects, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources stated on October 7th. Under the new partnership, the two parties will establish a specialized factory for manufacturing phosphate fertilizers and another facility for upgrading low-quality phosphate ore to maximize its economic value. The initiative aligns with the third axis of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ strategy, which focuses on developing and expanding the mining sector to enhance the added value of mineral resources and ensure their optimal exploitation.
